My nan died this morning

My nan loved the Queen and was a royalist. I find it sad, but also fitting, that she died so close to the Queen's death. She was actually older than the Queen by several years! I'm obviously very sad, as she has been a constant in my life, but also glad she had a peaceful death. Not asking for replies, just felt I needed to share my grief with someone.

Sorry to hear this op.
Actually think when someone is older it can be reqlly hard as you have had them for longer.
May she rest in peace xxx

I’m so sorry for your loss. My beloved grandmother died in May. Born in the same year as the Queen, died the same year as the Queen. I miss her.

I'm so sorry. Recently lost mine after having her all my nearly 50 years. We know it's coming but it's still a shock when it actually happens. I miss her so much. Tell us some stories about yours @MarmiteCoriander .. I bet she was a real character.

So sorry for your loss. With my own grandmothers I lost both at around age 75. One at 13, I had just started sleeping on my own with her, in her little cottage, 2 up 2 down. I will never forget spending alone time with her. My other Nan, we saw regularly and again very much a part of my life, I remember her laugh still to this day.

Sorry for your loss.

My Mum was diagnosed in February and said she was hoping she and the Queen would make the Jubilee. Sadly, Mum didn't and died in May so the Jubilee and the Queen passing have had that extra layer if emotion, as it does for you.

I understand. Xx
