Public disorder incidents in Leicester

A large number of police vehicles sped past me earlier and I assumed it was this again and I was right.

I don't really care what the reasons are although it started with the cricket results weeks ago, but its all just so pointless.

Huge police presence required and areas of the city being closed off every day. This sort of stuff inevitably escalates as well.

Surely people have got better things to do with their time?!

Concern is that people from outside leicester are already getting involved, groups of young lads again, next it will be looting and it will have nothing to do with religion.
Feel sorry for the Police who will already be low on numbers and now expected to mount a full scale response.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was people outside the area. I was in the city centre area and it was full of little groups of young lads just hanging about clearly waiting for something so I did wonder.

I would hope the Policing strategies were reviewed after the riots/looting of several years ago and are implementing that now. Honestly I didnt realise it has been going on for a few weeks though.

Does anyone know if it will be continuing tonight?

It wasn’t about the cricket. It’s a race war. A man of one religion was jumped and beaten by a gang from another and that’s how it’s started and continued. Many have travelled in from Birmingham to take part. It’s horrendous and locals are really scared.

It's been rumbling on for a couple of weeks now.
