Have a wooden dining table, think it’s just wood on the veneer .

Had some oils burning.

so oils with water over a nightlight, simple oil burner . It must have spilled and now it’s lifted the varnish !

any ideas what to do ?

thanks in advance .

Googling seems to come up with people with totally wood tables, I think it might be different on veneer ?

it seems not to be a mark but has lifted like bleach almost does if drops on clothes .

Try just rubbing it with olive oil. I’ve known this to work on an expensive darker wood table with water marks.

On wood you put a cotton tea towel on top of marks and iron on top of tea towel. That gets water marks out of wood. I think I would try it tbh you have nothing to lose. If you do go ahead and try that please let us know how it went.

I think it’s the oil that’s done it. The oil was added to water and heated . It may have been hot when went on table.

It’s a little dish on the burner that sits above the nightlight. It has some water in it to stop burning dry and then the essential oils added in.

so I think the oil was hot and got knocked and some went on table.

Beeswax has sorted out a multitude of sins on our oak veneer table. Just make sure it's dry before you start.
