waitrose "eat flexi" range - anyone tried?

I am queen of the yellow sticker reduced to clear at Waitrose and got 2 packs of their Eat Flexi sausages reduced from £3.90 a pack to 89p a pack. Anyone tried them? The idea seems to be that they are 25% less pork, but instead of that 25% being shitty fillers like in cheap sausages, they have added mushrooms, beans etc. So you can still have a meaty sausage, but less meat.

Are they any good or are my kids going to brand them "weird"?

Sounds very tasty - I too love the 2nd round of yellow stickering, got 2 packs of stir fry veg for 25p each yesterday.

Will let you know. At £4 a pack I wouldn't have risked buying them just to try. But for 89p it's worth a go. Everything in my freezer has a yellow sticker on it... I am thinking there will be some good buys today as everything is closed tomorrow

Irrelevant to the thread but my absolute best bargain ever was two half legs of Waitrose lamb for £2.50 each Grin

As you were.

They sound fantastic. I'd love supermarkets to do more of this sort of thing. Let us know how they taste please OP.

Tesco do a similar range, with sausages, burgers and mince.

gogohmm · 18/09/2022 11:17

I tried the Tesco mince and won't buy again, lacked flavour and consistency

KenAddams · 18/09/2022 11:47

If you love a yellow stick check olio out it's fab!

Reporting back..

Well I'd give them a solid 8.5 out of ten. Very tasty. If I hadn't known they were only 50% meat I would never have guessed. Texture slightly different to a normal 90+% meat sausage, but not unpleasantly so. Would happily eat again.

Would I pay £3.90 a pack for 6 when I can buy 2 x 6 packs of the Finest ones in Asda for £4.50? Probably not. (Not that I buy full price sausages anyway, it's all yellow sticker). But at 89p in the reduced to clear, bargain.
