Haggard look before period

All of a sudden I look haggard and tired in the week running up to my period. Then as soon as it starts I look “normal” again. What’s that about? Anyone else get this?!

I wonder if it’s only how I perceive myself or whether I really do get the uglies?

Before I went on HRT I would get this. Hair lank, skin dull. Felt very ugly!

puffylovett · 17/09/2022 21:09

Yes me too! And so bloated, like pregnant looking bloated. And lumps in odd places..!

It sucks doesn’t it? A quarter of the month feeling ugly and a quarter with cramps and bleeding.

Oestrogen drop or something?

I get it too, ugly

Do you think we look shit to others or does our mood affect our self image? *grasps at straws

Probably we look normal to others 🤔

TheOGCCL · 17/09/2022 21:54

Oh absolutely. Oestrogen drops. I feel and look worse. More spots. Don’t sleep as well so that doesn’t help.

Works the other way too. At ovulation I tend to think I look good. Skin glows.

Whether others perceive it I’m not sure.
