Do I need my microwave?

Just bought a Cosori smart air fryer. I have taken out my microwave to fit it in my kitchen. I only use my microwave to cook oat so simple sachets and heat up beans and microwave rice. Can I do these things in the air fryer and truly do away with my microwave?

I lived without a microwave for ten years. Last house had a small kitchen so didn’t want to waste the space.

Never missed it.

Moved house and the kitchen has an integrated microwave so have one now, but very rarely use it.

Used to use mine loads.

It broke. We never got round to replacing it. That was about 3 years ago! Don't miss it at all now, you definitely get used to it.

I made an active decision to get rid, it took up so much worktop space, and I used it to defrost meat and cook beans....

Beans can be done on the hob, microwave rice too. Oatso simple probably can too (or just make 'proper' porridge). Perhaps try overnight oats?

I don't miss it. Almost everything can be done on the hob or oven. Some things take longer, but other things (like jackets) taste nicer for the effort.

Occasionally, I have a pang of missing a microwave meal being 5 mins away...but most can be done in the oven....except that one that I didn't check and is now condemned to live in the bottom of the freezer.

I hardly use mine. Did without one for a couple of years, and was persuaded to get another. Rarely use it. However, I do use it with the air fryer for jacket potatoes - microwave for ten mins and air fry for twenty. Cheaper than 50 mins + in air fryer, and quicker too.

I make porridge in a pan and sprinkle Demerara sugar on, but I guess you could drizzle syrup. Rice in a pan too - boil, simmer, turn off heat and leave lid on. Baked peans and peas I do heat in microwave, but they're no trouble in a pan either. Cheaper to use gas hob than airfryer. Only use it to replace oven.
