Oodies for short people

Like everyone else I want to get a hooded blanket for the Winter. I don't mind paying more for the premium ones as imagine I'm going to be saving money on heating, HOWEVER!

I'm only 5ft2 so am I going to be swamped by an Oodie with pockets sagging to my knees? If you're short what hooded blanket do you recommend?

Will the kids ones fit? Not oodie specifically but I find that as someone who is 5ft, the childrens clothing generally fits fine.

Devilledmeg · 17/09/2022 11:29

I don't know! Has anyone a similar height to me tried this?

I got mine in Next last year, same size as you. I'd imagine they will have similar this year. Not official oodie though 😉

RobinHumphries · 17/09/2022 12:39

I’m 5ft 31/2 and find the fit lovely but I like the fact there is more of me covered by my oodie

Ifulikepinacoladas · 17/09/2022 12:41

I have one and it's huge but it's meant to be. I'm 5ft3. I feel ridiculous if I look in the mirror 😂but I never intend to leave the house in it and it's very cosy.

MinervaTerrathorn · 17/09/2022 12:46

I'm 5ft 5 and my DS's one is mid thigh length. It should still be just above your knees, it's meant to be oversized. It's also twice as wide as I need it to be! I think either an adult one or one that would fit a 13 year old would work.

VeronicaVanHoopen · 17/09/2022 12:47

I'm 5ft3. My oodie swamps me but that's kind of the point! You can still do stuff in it as the cuffs are elasticated which is helpful.

DayOfTheTentacle · 17/09/2022 13:03

I'm 5,2 and have an oodie. I love it. Would recommend one to anyone.

yonce · 17/09/2022 13:19

I'm slightly envious reading this thread, I'm over 6" and mine just looks like a long top 😂 my sister is closer to your height, she's got a kids one and it fits better! The adult was really long on her 😊

Dannifaye · 17/09/2022 13:39

I’m 5’2 and have one from Dunelm and one from Primark.

Devilledmeg · 19/09/2022 17:26

Can you still do things like washing up or cooking in them if you're short or are the sleeves too baggy?

OP posts:
RobinHumphries · 19/09/2022 18:05

I’d say too baggy

FredaFox · 19/09/2022 18:12

My mum is 5foot but has mobility issues so walks with a walker, this is my worry at getting her one
I know she would love the cosyness but I'm worried about her tripping

Beckyfromthecroft · 19/09/2022 18:18

I'm 5ft2 with an oodie it's great for tucking your legs into it on the sofa. For cooking, beyond tea and toast or similar I wouldn't do it in an oodie regardless of height.

Keroppi · 19/09/2022 18:25

@yonce Onlinehomeshop do an extra long one!!

I ordered a normal one from there (think its Sienna brand or Dreamscape?) and it's due to arrive soon so I will update - I'm 5ft Blush I've had one before from Primark and it only came to my knees, maybe it's because I'm so wide Grin

KnickerlessParsons · 19/09/2022 18:36

I have an oodie and I'm 5'2". It's fine. Keeps more of my legs warm 😊
