DD 16 months ate a spider
A big one by the size of the legs she handed us, legs were given up but no body/spider to be seen
1 leg was taken out of her mouth 🤢
What do I do about this? Apart from never look at my toddler the same
Got visions of it coming out in her nappy...
I did not appreciate this on a Friday evening

You know, I used to care for an older child who ate his own poo on the daily and the GP gave the go ahead for it to happen, as he couldn't be stopped.

Neverendingmindfuck · 16/09/2022 19:20

This has reminded me of dog I once knew who liked eating spiders. I objected when the spiders legs were waving around out of his lips 🤢
I'm sure your daughter will be fine, but I suggest citrus smells around the room and windows. To keep the snacks down.....

Neverendingmindfuck · 16/09/2022 19:23

@jewishmum you must be a very special person 💐

Right did she swallow a fly first?
You're going to need her to swallow a bird to swallow the spider

😆😆😆

@diggersaurus That’s fine, I will fashion her a small fabric pouch to collect legs in.

Snacks for later, lovely... 😂

Stomach acid will sort it out. Assuming it is a daddy longlegs type spider.

YesitsBess · 16/09/2022 19:30

@diggersaurus When my son was 3 we lived in Thailand, he would eat anything as long as it was ‘on a stick’ and came from night market. Including crickets.

CRONCHY!

WonderingWanda · 16/09/2022 19:30

KnickerlessParsons · 16/09/2022 18:54

She should swallow a bird to catch the spider, then a cat to catch the bird, then a dog to catch the cat.....

🤣

Prescottdanni123 · 16/09/2022 19:34

The whole thing about us eating spiders every year is a myth. Spiders will no sooner climb into your mouth than you would climb inside a crocodiles jaws.

iRun2eatCake · 16/09/2022 19:56

Definitely one to write in her baby book..

Spiders don't actually recognise us as animals. We are so large to a spider we are viewed more like part of the environment. That's why it might appear a spider on a hot day is going towards you, when they are really just seeing your shoe as a shady rock.

They might be walking along the bed and, in the unlikely scenario it was dehydrated, it might go to your mouth to drink the fluid.

Stichintimesavesstapling · 16/09/2022 20:00

I think the only option is adoption

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 16/09/2022 20:04

You do know that food items are allowed a certain amount of insects matter in them, when they are made? Especially likely to occur when you think how massive cats are used when mixing, sauces, seasonings, doughs etc in food factories. It’s highly likely that you eaten several without ever knowing.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 16/09/2022 20:05

Massive vats. Vats!!! Although massive cats would mean zero insects….

Massive cats making food? You must be lion!

(Sorry, I know you corrected the typo but I couldn't help myself!)

Somethingsnappy · 16/09/2022 20:08

Ooh, can I borrow your daughter please, OP? Just for the remainder of spider season? I'll return her by halloween at the latest.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 16/09/2022 20:11

@SlagathaChristie 🤣🤣🤣
in my head I had a visions of a massive cat prowling a factory like the one from the Goodies!!

Lovemusic33 · 16/09/2022 20:11

People saying phone 111 🤣🤣? What do you expect them to do? Spiders are not poisonous, the child will survive.

Apparently we eat several spiders in our lifetimes without even knowing it.

Hopelessacademic · 16/09/2022 20:23

haha that/s gross but there's nothing to be done!
My cat eats loads of spiders and she's very healthy... maybe it's good for them!

BestCatMumEver · 16/09/2022 20:32

I’ve eaten several massive cats?

Grin This had made my evening!

Surtsey · 16/09/2022 20:55

No self-respecting spider is going to crawl into a sleeping predator's open mouth. Why on earth would it want to?

adasthorne · 16/09/2022 20:59

My daughter did this. She's now on night shift with the Met as a response cop and 30 years old

CousinKrispy · 16/09/2022 21:49

MASSIVE CATS
