How to get wee smell out of carpet?

Help!

We had a potty spillage that didn't get mopped up for a few hours (toddler did a wee just before we all ran out the door in the morning, didn't tell me and unfortunately knocked over the potty) and so it had time to soak into the carpet rather than being dealt with immediately if I'd realised. .

I've scrubbed and scrubbed with water and cleaner, used anti-bacterial Febreeze (sp?) and also used a Vax carpet cleaner on it (both hand-held scrubbing brush attachment and the main hoover part in "deep clean" mode).

There's still a distinct wee smell. 😭

Is there anything else I can do? I really can't afford to replace the carpet.

Put bicarbonate of soda over it and leave it a few days then hoover up. This will draw the smell out.

An enzyme product that you use for pet wee might help as it breaks down the odour molecules. Can find them in the pet shop. Or if you have bio laundry detergent then a solution of that might work as it also contains enzymes

sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on a dry carpet for at least a couple of hours and then hoover it up

Biological washing powder. The enzymes will breakdown the smell.

A solution with biological powder is definitely the best. Let it dry naturally and give it a good air. It will smell worse as it dries with the enzymes doing their job.
When dry, see if it smells and repeat if needed.
Another amazing way is by using 3% hydrogen peroxide with bicarb and a few drops of washing up liquid. Have a google to get the details. A bottle costs pence from some pharmacies. Hydrogen peroxide is amazing, never fails, but bare in mind that it is a mild bleach and may not be suitable for your carpet.
(I have cats and consider myself an expert on this matter 😔)

Amazing thanks!

I have bicarb on it at the moment, as that was one thing I had available. And will look into getting some biological washing liquid!

I do have some urine spray (if you know what I mean), which I found at the back of a cupboard... but it states for use on mattresses only.

Now also wondering if the Vax solution might have enzymes in, as the smell seems worse as it has started to dry after vaxing.
