Anyone made a new child benefit claim lately?

How long did it take? I've heard nothing in 7 weeks.

Mine only took a few weeks & I got a payment about a week before getting the letter!

I removed a child as left education and money altered two weeks later (never got a letter). This was about 7 weeks ago. This time of year there will be lots of people removing children from claims I do wonder if they prioritise these because Its hard to get money back from them than pay people late? Shouldn't happen but likely does.

I applied by post because I couldn't download the online forms. This was seven weeks ago and I've heard nothing. With no way of checking I have no idea if they even received it.
Yes, I have checked my bank account.
I'll wait a bit longer then try calling them.

I applied via post (send via 2nd class post) and I received my confirmation letter within 3 weeks of sending it.

Have been waiting 6 weeks so far and still nothing
