Once they're settled in at secondary school?

A good way of building friendships and confidence.

year 7

Depends on the neighbourhood and the cafe. Assuming both relatively safe, I agree with PP early high school.

Depends on the roads and the neighbourhood you live in. My daughter started doing things like this in the summer holidays after Y6. Also getting a bus into town to go to the cinema or look round the shops.

Mine could do this once they were settled into secondary school, so soon after starting year 7.

DD was 11, and very responsible as was the friend.

Still makes me nervous.

DD has just begun doing this, age 11 and just begun secondary school.
