Good or bin?

Hi everyone!
I have minced meat that I bought and froze on the same day. I defrosted it the day before yesterday and the expiry date says 11th of September.

Do I bin or use for dinner?

The whole point of freezing is to extend the life of the product. Of course you use it. Unless, it was 11 September 1998!

If you froze it the day you got it, the use by date is meaningless. If it's been in the fridge since taking it out if the freezer it'll be fine. Not so much if you've had it in a warm room

If it defrosted two days ago give it a sniff.

Supermarket mincemeat seems to go off quite quickly after defrosting lately.
