Hoping to go to majorca in October holidays so just a few weeks away. first family holiday in a long time which is probably why im procrastinating so much.

Want to stay in a nice area, bit of buzz but not as busy as alcudia or magaluf.

I've narrowed it down to these 3 resorts but I can't decide...has anyone stayed at any of them and would recommend /avoid? Someone make my decision for me!

  1. Protur Bonaire, Cala Bona www.tui.co.uk/destinations/europe/spain/majorca/cala-bona/apartments/protur-aparthotel-bonaire.html
  1. Zafiro Can Picafort www.jet2holidays.com/balearics/majorca/can-picafort/zafiro-can-picafort?ds_rl=1206481&ds_rl=1296397&ds_rl=1296397&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvZCZBhCiARIsAPXbajtHamxur_KEYACgTugwcDff0jFdLoVcRVHb7w0EmMCsNPLQjb5woqgaAvrGEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  1. Pollensa Park www.jet2holidays.com/beach/balearics/majorca/puerto-pollensa/pollensa-park-and-spa?ds_rl=1206481&ds_rl=1296397&ds_rl=1296397&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvZCZBhCiARIsAPXbajvzA65p3rJUZhl9BhRIy6vJfXwsjg0MkDrZyHkjDC7q4tZuoaFp5tMaAtndEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hi, I would book the Zafiro - excellent for families and a nice standard of hotel.
I know several people who have stayed at Zafiro hotels (and gone back) including myself. I've been to the one in Menorca.

rosydreams · 16/09/2022 11:11

i prefer the second the location is better its near quite a few shops plus near some kind of weekly market which sounds nice for a nosy.

Givemestrengthorvodka · 16/09/2022 11:15

Thanks both, that's my favourite hotel out the 3 and with jet2 which I would prefer over Tui but I've never been to Can picafort before and Google Street View doesn't make it look very appealing.

We stayed in Pollensa Park in the summer and the location was perfect for us. Close to the beach, lots of nice places nearby but a short walk to the “centre”. Let me know if you have any specific questions about the hotel

RainbowCol · 16/09/2022 11:18

And just to add Puerto Pollensa is a fantastic resort

Givemestrengthorvodka · 16/09/2022 11:22

@RainbowCol were you there with kids?and if so did you find pollensa Park was a fun resort? I'm weighing up the fact that the other 2 hotels on my list have more features and play areas for the kids but pollensa Park is in a nicer area for exploring outwith the hotel

Is it late October? You do realise it is unlikely to be hot weather?
So many people book holidays Oct half term and expect the same weather as they would get in summer holidays. You need to be much further south if that's what you want.

If that's not an issue for you I would suggest Cala Bona . Not keen on C'an Picafort . Not been to Pollensa.

RainbowCol · 16/09/2022 11:32

We have teenagers and the one thing we found was that there wasn’t much to do for them. There was a kids club for the younger kids but there wasn’t any drive to get the older kids to take part in anything. Same probably for the evening entertainment. So I think it would be fun if your kids are below around 8

TokyoSushi · 16/09/2022 11:33

I've stayed in 2 and 3! Zafiro better for Kids, Pollensa Park better area, tricky one!

Givemestrengthorvodka · 16/09/2022 11:52

@BareGrylls it would be 9th October for a week so I'm hoping around 20C during the day 🤞

Weather should be a decent temperature. There might be storms but it's unpredictable.

I'm not quite sure exactly what you want (how old are your kids?). The Zafiro strikes me as a classic Zafiro i.e. a lot on site but you need to throw yourself into the AI experience to make the most if it (happy to be corrected, caveat I haven't stayed but it's what I've read). It's a fair few blocks back from the beach and the main drag.

I know Cala Bona well. The hotel there on your list is much more close to the Port which has a lovely buzz of an evening.

Pollensa is nice, that hotel looks to be in a decent location.

Based on the relative locations I wouldn't pick the Zafiro, but I prefer to spend time out & about so that's just me!

Givemestrengthorvodka · 16/09/2022 14:18

Thanks all, I've whittled it down to either Bonaire in cala bona, or zafir in can picafort. Zafir AL is too expensive so it would be SC, and it sounds like it's maybe a bit out from the centre, so leaning towards to Bonaire. That's through Tui and I would prefer jet2 but hopefully there won't be any issues.

I've been to the Pollensa Park and Spa this year, didn't rate it tbh. Our room was tiny and the food was the worst all inclusive I've had.
Love Poeta Pollensa though, it's a great town.

I've also stayed in C'an picfort at Exagon Park
That was a great hotel but not such a great area.
