Help me buy my first tablet

Looking to buy a tablet for running my business on the move. Having a baby has limited my time I can spend on my home computer and I want something ultra portable so I can do things like invoices when out and about.

These are the things I'd like to do on it:

Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel)

Emails- Hotmail, outlook, gmail

Google: workspace, sites, business

I do a lot of cutting & pasting from one screen window to another and so this needs to be easy (not sure if that's worth mentioning)... just need good usability.

Android or iOS? I get annoyed that Apple keep updating things which means I need a new phone every 5 minutes- is Android the same?

Oh yeah and I don't want to spend silly money on this gadget. In fact I want to spend as little as possible ha!

Ps. I hate tech.

Go to mycheaplaptop.co.uk select Lenovo select Yoga and select WIN10Pro. £308.00 It is a flip laptop that you can use as a tablet with onscreen keyboard, or use as a laptop with standard keyboard and it has a stylus to allow you to sketch / write. Great bit of kit and brilliant service. The first one they shipped me failed to boot, no quible swap out next day. Superb. Still going strong.

Thank you so much but oh my word I didn't think I'd have to spend anything in the region of £300+.

I was naively thinking along the lines of £50-£100!
😳😬

Now looking for second hand 😂

Seen some Amazon ones in Curry's... would I just download apps for my various requirements? Is that how it works?

If you want a budget tablet I would go Amazon fire. The 7inch one is dirt cheap, they have office capability. You can't download Google apps though so avoid if that is a deal breaker.

£50-£100 for a tablet, is it a kids one you’re looking for?

(I am joking, the Lenovo one is a good shout if budget could be stretched?)

Look second hand cex etc sometimes have them

trashcansinatra · 15/09/2022 21:43

It's out of your budget, but I've found apple stuff lasts a lot longer than android and they support much older models. Their major updates are just one a year.

Haha No not looking for kid's one, I just hate the thought of splashing out on something I don't really want, but need.

Which second hand should I go for?
