I have literally spent two days trying to sync a smart plug to my phone and Alexa.
Why can't I manage this?
I'm so full of tech rage 😡
Anyone else completely flummoxed by this simple task?
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh

I don't have a smart plug but my smart tumble dryer is smarter than me and I can barely operate it 😩🤣

Have you read the instructions properly? Sometimes Alexa can only connect with a smart item if the item is functioning. To get most smart items to function, it has to be at 2.4 ghz instead of 5 ghz. If that is the problem, you need to go into your router as Admin and turn off the 5 ghz to allow the item to connect at 2.4 ghz and then Alexa should be able to find it.

Factory rest the plug and then plug it back in and wait for a good 5 mins before you try to pair

one other common problem is if you have a home internet network with a guest network option. If your device is on one, and your phone or Alexa is on the other, they wont find each other. My phone will jump onto which network is stronger and sometimes the guest network is (because the dc are streaming something and using the main network up) and if I dont notice it, and force the phone back onto the main network, I cant print etc
