Anyone who can "see" where lost things are?

I'm sure I've read on here someone who has this weird skill and I need their help locating my engagement and wedding rings 😥I think I took them off at work yesterday (work in a school) and just praying I have put them in a safe space and not somewhere the children could have spotted them, taken a fancy to and taken them home!

If someone could see my house keys and tell me where they are that would be great thank you. Its doing my nut.

Your rings are obviously on a counter top next to a white sink, there are lots of glue pots etc around, and your rings are tucked in amongst all the crap up against the wall.

ConkerBonkers · 15/09/2022 17:36

Well they were definitely there at one point, but could currently be in the school office. Its worth a call in to check.

TheLoupGarou · 15/09/2022 17:38

I think you took them off and put them on a window ledge before washing your hands (once searched a FIELD for DH's wedding ring as he thought it had fallen off and it was sitting on the bathroom windowsill at home)

wherearethehumans · 15/09/2022 17:39

Weirdly I can do this but mostly with my own and family items, the rest is guessing.. but I can see a black blazer or jacket?

It's very odd I think stuff just pops into people heads and if they keep saying it at some point it will be right 😊

dontgobaconmyheart · 15/09/2022 17:40

No psychic abilities to speak of sadly so practical advice only but If you do think you took them off at school and worry a pupil has picked them up I would keep the faith they might be returned, it just might take some time for a parent to come across them and get to the bottom of it. You can always ask the Head to put a message out about it on the app if your school has one or in the next letter.

I always find it helpful to sit down quietly with these things, relax and think back to what I did, or systematically retrace steps to anywhere I might have been. Things usually turn up but the more stressed and therefore rushed you are the less thorough the search is, I find. Be sure to check drawers near where you where sat, pen pots and windowsills, the kind of places someone might put something if they picked it up and set it aside to be 'safe'.

Hope you find them OP!

EdithGrantham · 15/09/2022 17:40

Thanks both, I don't take them off to wash my hands and didn't have to wash anything up yesterday but will check by the sinks tomorrow.

Oh sorry other replies weren't there, a black jacket would definitely fit with one of the children picking them up and secreting them away in a pocket because they don't have book bags yet. And yes if they don't turn up by lunchtime tomorrow I will pop a message on the app just asking parents to keep an eye out, don't want to accuse their children of taking stuff so early on in the school year so need to be careful how I word it!

'Hi, I appear to have misplaced my rings and wondered if I could just ask parents to keep an eye out in bags and pockets in case they've been swept up as treasure!

Today we have had loads of fun looking at ... and talking about ... I would love it if children could bring in some of their treasure from home and be prepared to share a few words about it with their friends'

Do you have a board in your class? I wonder if you've balanced them on the top out of the way. That or a desk drawer right at the back?

MisgenderedSwan · 15/09/2022 17:50

Or put them in a pen pot on your desk?

OrangePumpkinLobelia · 15/09/2022 17:51

I hope you find them OP. Thanks

If anyone can find DH's landrover keys we would be grateful. He put them 'on a ledge, somewhere safe' which was his first mistake.

EdithGrantham · 15/09/2022 17:58

Thanks @MisgenderedSwan that sounds like a good message! I've checked all round my desk which is where I think I took them off but no sign of them unfortunately!
@OrangePumpkinLobelia thanks, although I'm upset about losing my rings at least it isn't inconvenient like losing keys!

ConkerBonkers · 15/09/2022 18:00

Orangepumpkinlobelia, they will show up in your key pot, rack etc in a few week's time, in plain sight, and as though they had always been there.

Oh rings are way worse than losing keys. They are so precious and personal. Thanks I hope so much you find them.

Somanycuddlybears · 15/09/2022 18:04

If any of you know where my husband’s Apple Pencil went I’d appreciate it! It was lost on my watch and I have to replace it. I would far rather spend the money on winter boots.

OrangePumpkinLobelia · 15/09/2022 19:36

Thank you @Missdotty Smile

Shlomping1234 · 15/09/2022 19:40

If anyone can help me find my dog's collar that'll be great. I took it off after my toddler was pulling him and it seems to have disappeared 🙃

Marinated · 15/09/2022 19:44

Second drawer

Spanielsarepainless · 15/09/2022 19:53

While you are looking, could you locate my sink plunger?

Boxowine · 15/09/2022 20:04

You will find them, never fear. My friend lost her wedding ring set and was convinced she had taken them off while doing the dishes and wrapped them in a napkin and then threw everything away. This was right before she went on a road trip to Canada. She called her mother in a panic and asked her to go through the wastebasket. Nothing until three months later when her husband found it under the passenger seat of his car. She had taken them off to put on hand lotion and then somehow they fell? And she didn't notice.
We very rarely lose important things, we just set them aside and our mind doesn't record it properly. You'll find them.

Oh yeah, and prayer to St Anthony. Never fails.

EdithGrantham · 15/09/2022 21:25

Thanks for the new answers, I checked all the drawers today but will check them again tomorrow.

I really hope that's the case @Boxowine but having looked everywhere I could have possibly taken them off at home and only having one occasion to have to take them off at work I fear they were originally exactly where I thought they'd be but have just been too tempting to the little magpies we have in reception class!

OP posts:
MisgenderedSwan · 15/09/2022 21:27

Having recently had a reception dc I would not have been offended to receive a message asking me to check. Do you have a school janitor? Maybe worth checking with them that they haven't found anything. Have you checked all bags, coats, pockets from the day?

Juicelooseabootthehoose · 15/09/2022 21:29

Have you checked your hand? Ridiculous question, but the amount of times I have spent looking for glasses I am wearing is also ridiculous.

Failing that they have gone to the same place all my hair clips I've have lost over the years have gone.

This happened to a watch of mine once.
Missing for months, then one day turned up in the middle of the floor

GreenLeavesRustling · 15/09/2022 21:31

They are in your pencil case or a tiny pocket in the front of your bag.
