(Small sob but I know he couldn’t go on forever) .Roger Federer has announced his retirement, though he will be at the ATP next week in London - I did think of going but it is at the O2 which imo has the worst tennis audience in the world ( eating, drinking, talking during play, moving seats), every time I go there I come out with higher blood pressure than I started with.
I take comfort in the fact that he , and Mira, have cleverly managed to have four children, two of each ,so in future years there could be Federer involvement in
women’s singles, men’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles. You see, that’s the sort of man the wonderful Roger is , every move planned and anticipated!
Thanks for all the memories Roger, you were an amazing player to watch, an athlete and a gentleman, competitive but not a “player”.
