Will motorway services be open on Monday?

May have to travel on Monday (sick relative) but hopefully can return on Sunday evening.

Worries about toilet stops if we have to travel on Monday.

Any ideas or links about this?

Motorway service stations are required by law to remain open 24 hours a day every day throughout the year. Services may be limited, but the following will always be available:

• fuel
• food and drink
• toilets

Every day means exactly that.

Weren't the toilets closed in lockdown? I remember lorry drivers moaning about a lack of loos.

No they were open, very restricted offerings but the motorway services definitely had loos open, petrol and the odd stale bag of crisps.

Which motorways will you be on OP?

Gosh I hope so, we have a long journey on Monday from dropping DD to university in London. I'm assuming they'll be open.

Gosh Polly, going into London is likely to be a nightmare. Luckily we don't have to go quite that far but hopefully we will travel Sunday evening instead.

They will be open. They have to be open by law. Don't worry about it!
