Can’t find any information online. Does anyone know if the flowers are still there, and if you can walk through the park? Or do you have to queue?

I work just near there and was there today. It is pretty much all boarded off now and they are moving everyone to Hyde Park instead. You can’t get more than about 10 steps into it.

Oh I see, thank you @JessieLola Flowers

They said it is due to overcrowding but if you stand on the tip of the tiny slope which boarders Piccadilly and the park, you can just about see all the bouquets behind the boards. There’s loads of space plus space for more flowers, so who knows what the real reason is…

JessieLola · 14/09/2022 21:58

You couldn’t get to St James Park either today. I don’t know if all the boards are up because of the procession, but today you really couldn’t get anywhere beyond the end of St James St. It might be different tomorrow..?

I felt sorry for people today, as I don’t think some of them realise that Hyde Park is quite a walk if you are slightly elderly or have young children…

I think it’s a real shame. Green Park is beautiful and huge and a perfect setting at the moment for people to come to.

I think maybe they’ve done it to move people away from that area ahead of the funeral and use it as a base for the tv vans etc. They’ve often used the south end of the park for that before (I saw Sophie Raworth sitting on the wall once!) but maybe this time (due to the scale of everything) they’ve decided to shut the whole park off and give some rubbishy excuse that it’s full of flowers and there’s no room for anymore…🤔

St James Park was open late afternoon/evening but with restrictions and 1 way systems

I asked about tomorrow as my dog is usually walked in Victoria Gardens but that is part of the queuing system and they said it would be open at 6.30am. Only odd flowers around trees but I imagine they move them each day and a small number people were leaving them over the barrier in front of the palace

The signs said Green Park for the floral tributes viewing area but at least 2 of the signs were pointing in the wrong direction.

We walked right through St James’ park today, and cut across to the Mall, just before the procession - we walked down Birdcage walk as far as the barracks, then walked across the park.

Green park was completely blocked off, anyone with flowers was being (quite vaguely) directed to Hyde Park but there were also quite a lot of flowers left at trees in St James’ Park.

We walked through St James park today and there were some flowers left at trees, not sure how it compared to Green park because it was entirely blocked off when we arrived.

Just to update, I’ve just been to green park, it’s fully open, busy but well organised, no queue, just went straight in from the tube and had plenty of time to walk around and see all of the floral tributes. Really glad I went.
