HelloFresh Ingredients

I have so far failed to find good substitutes for some of the more unusual HelloFresh ingredients. Specifically the ginger, garlic and lemongrass paste! Also the stock pastes. These little touches really make the meal I think. Any ideas?

For the lemongrass, ginger and garlic paste, just buy the individual purees and mix them in equal parts. For the stock paste, just use a stock cube instead.

I'm still trying to find out how to make the north Indian style spice mix and the Indonesian style spice mixes. We've had some delicious curries, but so hard to replicate!

Yes. And also the minced pork (and beef) that you get in the vacuum pack? Seems to taste better than the supermarket stuff.

Do you have one of those ethnic supermarkets anywhere near? I buy all my spice mix curry stuff from there, usually much better flavour and cheaper.

This site has loads of spice blends www.seasonedpioneers.com/seasoning-type/spice-blend/ I haven't ordered yet, but keep meaning to, as we had a gorgeous curry from hello fresh, which has a Zanzibar spice blend, which this place does, so I'm hoping it's similar

I found their supplier and bought some North Indian spice mix. Called seasoned pioneers

@TorviShieldMaiden thank you so much for that! I've looked in all of the local shops and can only get a generic curry powder, I'll have to get some of this 😋
