Why 2.22pm?

Does anyone know of the significance of the queen's coffin leaving Buckingham palace at 2.22pm?

Presumably it means something because it's so specific

Because it was exactly 38 minutes walk for the receiving ceremony at 3pm.

So that it arrives at precisely 3

I think that it's because it takes exactly 38 minutes, to walk from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall.

If you need to be somewhere at a specific time (e.g. 3pm), do you not work backwards to see what time you need to leave?

Would have been pretty poor if they had been hanging about outside for 7 minutes because they decided to leave at quarter past.

It's not like they needed to allow for roadworks/diversions!

Also, the music is arranged according to the duration of the procession, so the departure time needs to be precise

I think it’s because it’s all the 2s it’s thrown your natural thought to think back from arrival time. On its own it sounds like it should have significance
