Always suspected, finally witnessed. Caught out in lies (light-hearted)

Saw washing machine display 11 minutes remaining then 10 and 9.

But then I saw it skip from 9 to 2.

It lies!

Mine does this! It’s completely untrustworthy.

LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 13/09/2022 18:52

Our old clothes drier used to say it only had 15 minutes left, for HOURS. Teasing bastard

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 13/09/2022 18:54

Our latest model can jump from 14 down to 2. I've learnt not to believe its times at all.

TyneTeas · 13/09/2022 19:17

Glad it's not just me 😀

Mine goes from 10, to 2, then beeps to says its finished!

YourLipsMyLipsApocalypse · 13/09/2022 19:28

Mine is the opposite; says it has two minutes left for about 15 minutes!

TyneTeas · 13/09/2022 19:35

Yes I suspect mine also does it that way too, sometimes I think it'll be finished at a certain time, wander through then and it still has 20 minutes to go

I can see into the kitchen from my comfy chair in the living room. My washing machine lies too. 1 minute remaining, my arse.

CoraPirbright · 13/09/2022 20:08

My smart meter readout thingy is a lying bastard too! If you sneak up on it, it realises it’s been spotted and the pointer shoots from the red area to the bottom of the green bit. Totally untrustworthy!

TyneTeas · 13/09/2022 20:44

Oh I hadn't thought about smart meters!

So washing machines are like those electronic bus signs. Telling you it will be two minutes, then one minute, then every other bus known to man races past and your bus is down to 20 minutes! Then in case you decide to walk to another bus stop where you can get another bus that doesn't stop there, you start walking and with 15 minutes to go , your bus races past!

cliffdiver · 15/09/2022 16:58

Mine also does this.

According to my dad, it's because it weighs the washing throughout the cycle Confused

TyneTeas · 15/09/2022 19:23

I know my tumble dryer sometime decides things are dry enough and stops sooner, which is fine

I had forgotten all about the frustration of the random number generators that are bus and train boards (still working from home)
