I wake up many days feeling fear. It was very clear this morning that I felt it in my body but not my head. My head was free. I don't know how to make the body stop feeling fear, do you have any ideas?

I'd start with reviewing what you eat & drink, do you exercise, do you meditate.

All these have a cumulative impact on the body.

That’s generalised anxiety. Classically bad on first awakening.

You need to work on the anxiety itself. Medication can really help but you might find some regular exercise, CBT techniques, reduction of stress etc. is enough to treat it.

Get up straight away, don't linger in bed. Go for a walk or do stretches, anything physical distracts the mind a bit.

I'm getting that back now I'm coming off meds.

At first I found that sleeping in a different room helped, because the generalised anxiety was focused on the room I was in. Sleeping elsewhere wasn't affected. Now I'm trying to "trick" my mind that I'm in the other room - moving the bed, taking the cushions from the other bed.

It's only been one night, but it worked last night - no palpitations in the night, or on waking.

However - do work on the underlying cause.
