Proclamations

Does anyone know why Edinburgh has read out 2 proclamations today? One at St Giles and the other currently being read at the Castle?

Ashamed to say I'm from Edinburgh but have no idea why.

I watched the Accession Council yesterday - there was a Church of Scotland proclamation and an accession proclamation approved.

No idea, but I'm going along to the local one in our small town later today.

They've just talked about this on BBC1 and it just gets read out twice in Edinburgh - once in the city centre and once at the castle.
