Interview tips and tricks

I have my first interview in a long time tomorrow. It's via Teams and I'm a bag of nerves.

The new job would be more pay, less targets driven culture and generally a bit of a change.

My current place doesn't really use video conferencing even though we all work from home.

Does anyone have any interview tips and tricks, or any specific to virtual interviews please?

Make sure your background is free from distractions - I sit with a wall behind me. You can blur your background on Teams.

I have a list of my main achievements in front of me, which I can refer to, if I get stuck, just something I can quickly glance at for inspiration. It's also handy to have a notepad handy.

Keep a glass of water close by.

I normally use my lap top for interviews, but I also have a back up device (phone or tablet) with me, in case something goes wrong with my first device.

Keep your phone nearby, if there is a techy problem, they may try to call you.

Make sure your devices are properly charged or plugged in.

Good luck.
