Gluten free dinner party recipes

I decided earlier that I want to invite some friends over for a nice, grown up dinner party. Of the eight, one is coeliac and another gluten intolerant. Between covid and other life stuff it's been far too long since I've done a nice dinner for friends so I've forgotten what to do. What would you serve? Especially desserts, I seem to go for variations on meringue for this lot.

Trifle made with gluten-free madeleines.

Home-made ice-cream.

Flourless chocolate cake.

Creme brûlée.

Crumble made with gf flour.

I am coeliac and often make a cheesecake with a gf biscuits base, mostly because it is one of the desserts I really miss being able to have when at a restaurant and it is a really simple substitution.

Whatever you do, don't do a chocolate brownie. The gf dessert/cake option in a cafe is always sodding brownie.

Anything cheese cake ish, or banoffee pie, anything meringuish, lemon posset, oats crumble, sticky toffee pudding works really well gf. I'd just think of your fave dessert and see if ingredients can we swapped. Definitely not chocolate brownie or ice cream/sorbet.

That's a good idea, cliche, cheesecake is always worth a whirl and gf biscuits are easy enough to get. I've managed to avoid the brownie trap before, but point taken! I did an amazing chocolate meringue with raspberry ganache last time the coeliac friend was over but don't want to repeat it.

Isn't meringue gluten free? I'm pretty sure it is.

Otherwise Nigella's olive oil chocolate mousse is excellent, also her white chocolate mousse.
