A boring logistics thread (Harry & Meghan)

So the working royals will go anywhere and do all trips etc and their every need will be pre-thoughtout, and delivered.

How does it work with H&M? Do they bring their own household staff along? If they were still working royals then Frogmore would be staffed by their office, someone would sort groceries and linen and pay anything that needed paying.

But now they have stepped out, does someone provide a car? If so who? Or do they arrange a hire car? Who does their groceries and cooking? Do they have their own staff for things like laundry etc? That would be ridiculously expensive!

I assume they have a PA but is she/he hired through the Crown or independently? Does the PA then work with the other royals staff? Or do they just sit and wait to be told what to do by the Crown and in the mean time Meghan dashes round Sainbos for pasta and pesto?

I wonder this stuff too.

I think they have their own personal assistants who I do stuff like that. So I assume they sorted the plane and car for Harry to go to Scotland for example.

I assume Meghan has someone who can help her sort outfits for the next few days although I suspect she might go home between now and the funeral.

But yeah I wonder about all this too. Like did William just phone Harry on his mobile to see did he want to come this afternoon?

Who books their hairdresser and make up people? How do they all coordinate who has to be where when over the next few days??

I would assume as guests of the monarch that staff and amenities will be provided for them from the existing household staff. There'll be processes in place for it.

Are they guests of the monarch tho? They're in their own house not in one of the Royal residences.

As "non working royals" it might make a difference.

Frogmore is owned by the Crown as part of the Windsor Castle Estate. It doesn't belong to anyone else.

It is legally M & H's home in the UK - they have a lease.

Sure Charles has staff he can assign to them for the few days. The Netflix runners no doubt available to help out too

They rent it, so whilst it is their home, it's still actually a royal residence as it is not owned by them; but by the Crown.

The King will be facilitating things.

ivykaty44 · 10/09/2022 20:41

Yes or they wouldn't have started a thread on it. If you don't, why not scroll past?

Not sure about hair, but I imagine both Catherine and Meghan are fairly skilled at doing their own makeup.

Yes, but if you rent a property, your landlord doesn't supply your dresser, cook and chauffeur!

LoveHamble · 10/09/2022 20:51

They have PAs and their PAs also have assistants.

Wouldloveanother · 10/09/2022 20:52

They’ll have brought a handful of PAs and secretaries with them who I expect will be multi faceted over the next week or two. I can’t imagine them humping their own luggage about and microwaving their own meals somehow.

WeAreTheHeroes · 10/09/2022 20:53

Come on, his dad's the king - he will be sorting things.

SilverLiningPlaybook · 10/09/2022 20:55

I wonder about all this too. Also wondered about how William contacted Harry!

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 10/09/2022 20:58

They are still royal! He's still a top royal on the UK!!

He's born second to throne!

He's still high up!!

Carrier pigeon. They're not allowed smart phones.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/09/2022 21:01

This is not true?

I appreciate a landlord doesn't supply extras, I'm not daft. But as a working royal, there will be household staff funded from the money the Crown receives. As they have stepped down as working royals, do they still get that?

Speckled Jim I take it?

wheresmymojo · 10/09/2022 21:02

The same way other Celebs do - they'll have Nannies and PAs with them

bellabasset · 10/09/2022 21:05

Their visit was private initially but due to the change in circumstances I'm sure that the King will have made sure there's arrangements in place for them and no doubt additional security is at Windsor. Harry may well be involved in further events leading up to the funeral so it may be their children will be brought over to be with their parents. The Royals always have appropriate mourning clothes but Catherine and Meghan will no doubt need to supplement their wardrobes due to the length of the mourning period.
