Settle an argument - cat insurance

Please help settle a friendly argument .... anyone who knows about car insurance ......

Person A owns a car. They lent the car to person B who insured it for themselves to drive. Person A now wants the car back, but B is refusing to remove their insurance from the car and return it to A. A is going to insure the car for themselves to drive regardless and simply "re-possess" the car (they have the keys). Friend C is telling her this is illegal and you can't have two different drivers insured to drive the same car on separate policies. I think you can and disagree with C.

Who is right?

You are right.

You can have 2 policies for the same car.

You’re right; I can’t see why you can’t do that. People can drive others cars using their own car insurance as well if they have a policy that covers them and that’s not illegal. When they do the insurance they ask who owns the car so you want to make sure you have proof it’s you who owns it though

Of course you can, and if person B drives it now it will be without the owners consent and can be reported to the police

You are correct.
