December birthday parties

DD will be 3 on New Year’s Eve. She’s been to a string of birthdays recently, and is getting excited about her own.

But no one wants to go to a toddler birthday in the middle of the Christmas holidays I assume, and I sure as hell don’t want to host one then!

What do others do for late December birthdays?

My son has a summer birthday and it was hard getting his friends to go so we did it in July before they broke up. Maybe celebrate it another date and do a half birthday? So when she is 3.5?

Do you know this for sure? Like, have you asked about?

I'd be happy to attend a kids birthday party one day after Boxing Day and before New Year's Eve. There's always a bit of a lull in our house at the that and a party would break it up a bit, keep the kids entertained.

My DD is November.
It's dark early, and the weather is mank. Parents are usually thrilled to have something to help fill a weekend. Her parties were always v well attended.
During the holidays might be different

Move it to the first weekend in January.

Go for January once the schools have gone back. No one plans anything fun in January, you’d get loads of acceptances!

I would do a family day on her actual bday and party in Jan on first weekend of the new term (get invitations out before Xmas break).

Ask around to see when people would be free but also first week of Jan is great. Something to look forward to. I loved going to January parties!
