Kids Birthday Party Question for any seasoned experts, please!

I'm throwing my DS a birthday party for his 5th birthday in a few weeks. He will have just started school, so I'm popping invites in his bag on his first day for his classmates. I'm hoping for around 25 children including cousins etc.

I've hired a memorial hall, and an adults sized bouncy castle.

I' m planning to make pass the parcel- what sort of thing shall I put inside? Sweet in every layer or are parents too good to give five year olds sweets?

I was going to play musical statues - what sort of prize?

I'm cheating and ordering party food platters from Sainsburies to collect on the day. That will be sarnies, small wraps, fruit skewers, cocktail sausages, and I'll do some nuggets, bowls of crisps, and pots of jelly too.

There will be birthday cake and cupcakes.

Music I'm using a blue tooth speaker and making a Spotify playlist.

Have I missed anything obvious? Does this sound okay?

I've not done, or been to, a kids party! Thanks

Don't forget knife for cutting cake, candles and lighter, teaspoons for coffee, kitchen towel and spray, napkins.

I usually do a box of biscuits for the adults and they can pick at what's left of the kids food.

Went to one recently where the craft table was masks to colour and put gems on which went down well.

I use Trello for keeping track of the invites and responses, and what you've bought and need to bring, and noting down what presents people bought so you can send a specific thank you text afterwards. You can dig it out in future years to help you remember.

My tips:

Ask all guest about allergies. For example if a child can't eat egg then you'll need to buy a vegan cake. I had this with my son's party but sainsburys sell cheap small vegan cakes and all was fine.

Bring bags for life for transporting any gifts you're given.

Don't forget bin liners for the rubbish afterwards!
