Just idly wondering as I watch all those hugely valuable costumes and precious artefacts parading around the streets of the City of Londoners? I presume they would not have tolerated a massive dousing

Yesterday it pissed it down all day. Would they have postponed or moved it indoors somewhere ?

I think the bearskins shake themselves like dogs.

They'd have done it in the wet.

The uniforms are based on old military uniforms and that kind of wool plus embroidery is surprisingly weatherproof. Feathers look a bit sad when wet, but perk u afterwards.

The prelates might get a bit soggy though.

Many of the tabards will be off to the embroiderers anyhow, as the royal cipher will have to be unpicked and reworked to the new one

They would have got wet. Everything would have been heavier. The crowds would have brollies and everyone would pretend not to notice.
