How to bleach clothes?

I need to bleach some clothes white, they’re currently blue/green (long story, but my son has ASD and is very particular about a certain type of T-shirt that so far I’m unable to find in the correct colour). I’ve looked online how to bleach them but I can only find how to bleach whites to make the whiter, and a warning that standard bleach may damage the fabric. Once I’ve managed to bleach them, I plan to dye them his preferred colour and pray they will be accepted! Can anyone advise me please?

Standard bleach can make fabric patchy and also make it harder for dye to take.

You could try to strip the colour out first with a dye remover, such as Dylon.

Good luck!

As well as coming out patchy bleaching can damage the fibres so you could end up with clothes that wear out really fast.
Is it worth explaining the parameters for what you need and seeing if mumsnet can find it for you?
