I was supposed to go to the football tomorrow...

I don't do it very often, but when I do I go with a very old friend and we make a proper day if it, go to the most famous tourist attraction in whatever town we're playing in, have some lunch and lots of beer, see the game and carry on "socialising" into the evening.

He's a dear old friend who I don't see very often these days as we each live more than an hour out of London in opposite directions. This is why travelling for football works - most trips involve going into London and out again, so we meet centrally.

Anyway, it's all very sad, but no-one's helped by us sitting at home feeling sad all day and as we already had the day earmarked we thought we'd still go into London and do "something". WWYD in London this weekend, that's fun, socialble, open and not too inappropriate? I like a drink, but I can't sit in the pub all day!

I was supposed to go too for the first time this season and I'm also very sad.

It's a bit nuts that they are cancelling when they could do a minutes silence instead.

Official gov.uk guidance says that there is no need to cancel such events.

It's daft.

Someone just said events that need policing are being cancelled, everything else can go ahead, but lots of people are saying lots things that are nonsense.
