Line dried washing tips

In the summer I always put my washing on the line - saves energy, dries quickly, love it! When we get to Autumn and Winter I have no choice to dry my clothes on airers indoors and my house resembles a laundrette for the winter months. Do clothes dry outside in the cold or are they still really damp? How do you avoid clothes getting wet in the showers? Need personal experience really please.

Get a greenhouse (£15-£20) - even one of those cheapy plastic frames seed/potting on greenhouse. Just so long as it is bigger than your airer - pop your airer and clothes inside and make sure there is some ventilation- leave the door fully or partially open. No need to worry about the rain.

I've never used it, but another MNer recommends this cover for rotary lines to protect the laundry on breezy, showery days.
