3 hours of cleaning

I have a cleaner coming for the first time tomorrow. I asked for 3 hours the first 2 cleans and then 2 hours a fortnight.

Does this sound reasonable for 3 hours? Or do I need to add/take away

Downstairs loo
Hall and kitchen floors
Kitchen worktops/cupboards/sink
Stairs and landing carpet
Bathroom
Hoover bedrooms x 2
Dust our room
Bedroom window frames x 2

I’ve spent all evening tidying and a quick clean in the bathrooms so should be straight forward for her.

It depends how big each room is of course but I don’t think that’s enough to fill 3 hours

A very modest town centre semi.

I did think if it was me, I would be able to do more but I didn’t want to take the piss on her first day!

I think that sounds reasonable. We have two hours fortnightly and our cleaner does the whole 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house in that time.

I don't hire a cleaner but that sounds fine to me, It takes me around 3 hours clean my whole house each week. It's an average 3 bed semi with 1 bathroom and I would...

  • dust
  • hoover
  • mop floors
  • clean bathroom
  • empty bins
  • change beds
  • hoover sofas and rotate cushions
  • kitchen sink, hob and surfaces
  • And usually one other big job such as the fridge or windows.
