Clarks Shoes - did your kid get the Pokemon cards?

I'm cross! Clarks ran a promotion in August saying all of their new Pokemon shoes sold that month would come with a pack of Pokemon cards. DS, who's 6, got very excited and chose his new school shoes, from the range, on 2 August. It said on their website and on all promo material the cards were part of the deal.

They arrived without the cards. Went to local Clarks shop. They'd run out, assistant just shrugged. Got on to customer services, who apologised and said they'd get some sent to us.
Since then...nothing. I've been contacting them and they're ignoring me.

But...other people are also saying on Twitter they didn't get the cards either.

AND the shoes I bought are now £2 cheaper - without the cards - so effectively I've paid for cards I didn't get.

I've also got a really disappointed little boy.

I know it seems like a small thing. But it feels like Clarks ran a really disingenuous campaign and has left lots of kids disappointed.

Anyone else had this too?

No we didn’t either! They had run out so I’ve been back to the shop a couple of times and I get blank looks from the shop assistants

It's making me disproportionately furious. How can you 'run out' by 2 August, at the start of your campaign?
Last time I buy from Clarks. Is there anyone other than their customer services, like Trading Standards or something, to complain to?

My son got some but we bought the shoes in store (around beginning of August I think it was).

The cards weren't a 'normal' full pack of Pokémon cards - there were only 3 in there and they were just the very basic ones (nothing shiny or special) I think they were special promo packs just for Clarks.
My son was a bit disappointed really that there were only 3 in the pack!

I bought these shoes in store for ds and nobody even mentioned cards to me.

I feel like I’ve missed out on something I didn’t know existed.

Get a Happy Meal! A tenth of the price and has Pokémon cards in it. Might cheer your DS up a little Smile

That's interesting @Okbye . I see they describe them on the promo material as a 'fun pack' so a bit like fun-size Mars bars or whatever? Not sure how they're more 'fun' than normal size, but anyway...
I also bought at the start of August so not sure how they ran out so fast.

Yes, my son had spotted that and we did it the other day - thanks 😊

I'm still just annoyed on principle that a company like Clarks can knowingly disappoint kids and just effectively shrug their shoulders about it.
