House smells stale

Need some help
I’ve cleaned the whole house and I can’t work out what it could be?
I smell it in the living room and also my bedroom
i don’t eat in my bedroom, all drinks are in a bottle so no chance of something being spilt / food being hidden in there

It happens to most homes on occasion, so maybe you just need to open the windows and get some lovely fresh air in. I find if I open a couple upstairs and the patio downstairs and wedge the room doors open I get a lovely through flow of air. Free and natural too - no nasty chemical laden fake fresh air smells from a can.

The carpets? Sometimes my vacuum smells funny and therefore all rooms end up a bit musty smelling? Open window, a bit of essential oils somewhere like lavender, see how it is after a few days.

We are potty training and DC has weed on the carpet a few times which has been scrubbed at the time but not deep cleaned with the carpet cleaner - could it possibly be that? I’m washing all the sofa cushions today

I must admit I don’t open windows every day - I have a massive fear of spiders

Clean the soft furnishings - carpets, curtains, upholstery. It'll make a big difference.

Smelly hoovers can cause this so see if that's the cause. You do need to open some windows for a while every day. You'll have damp problems as well as odour otherwise

Hi this happend to my friend and she had a massive wasps nest under the floorboards on the hallway.

Opening all the windows for a day or two usually fixes this for me, though with a potty training dc, might not be such a good idea if they enjoy climbing and investigating at that age too!
