American Sororities

The bama rush thing keeps coming up on tik tok even though I’m basically 20 years too old for it but fascinated. It’s beautiful glossy young American women moving their lithe limbs to pop songs and basically looking like they’re having an amazing time.

Has anyone been in a sorority? What are they like? Are you still sisters forever?

One of those weird things I can’t quite get my head around but would love to know what it’s like

I grew up in the US and went to a university with a huge 'Greek' (sorority/fraternity) scene very similar to Bama. I wasn't in a sorority but my best friend was and I was good friends with a lot of guys in a particular fraternity. My friend is still good friends with many of her sorority sisters.

Sorority experiences depend a lot on the school - large southern schools such as Bama have massive sorority scenes, they're very glossy and looks-oriented.
They're also expensive and tend to be upper middle class white girls.

The fraternity scene is similar, and there's usually a hierarchy of the 'good' sororities/fraternities. Happy to answer any questions!
