Turned on by a car? Really?

I had a predicament the other day, I'm having car trouble and needed to run an errand in town. I was chatting with an acquaintance from my local hobby about it wondering what busses to get etc, he just said- don't worry he's going that way anyway so can take and bring back if I didn't mind waiting around longer in town for him. I said thanks, offered petrol money which he declined.
So far, so normal.

I'll give this fella a 4/10 for attractiveness. He isn't my type. He's nice etc, divorced (I'm a single mum) we only really chat about the hobby.

He picked me up and drove into town which is about 30mins away, we were making small talk about local goings on, nothing exciting but I noticed it within about 10 minutes that - the way he drove really had an affect on me! The feeling of the way he handled the car and the way it moved, I've never felt anything like it.

I thought the feeling would wear off while I was running my errand but the way back was worse.

I'm not a car person at all either I couldn't tell you the difference between a Mercedes and an I-phone.

I kept to normal chat on the way back home but my eyes kept drifting over to his arms on the steering wheel. I noticed he drove one handed for much of it but can't remember what he was doing with his other hand.

I obviously held my composure but when he dropped me home again I had to do something err "personal" because I was so worked up!

I can't look at him in the same way now!

What's going on is this a thing everyone else knows about that I've missed my whole life??

Maybe he is more attractive than you thought?

MrsMontyD · 08/09/2022 03:36

Men's arms can be very attractive, did he have short sleeves?

XJerseyGirlX · 08/09/2022 04:38

Maybe your subconscious was trying to tell you that you like this man even though you don't find him that attractive? I wonder where the driving thing comes into it!

Hawkins001 · 08/09/2022 04:44

Tis a pickle

BruceAndNosh · 08/09/2022 05:07

Are you suggesting that you want him to grind your gears?
Are you imagining him with his head under your bonnet?
😁

Oh yes totally.

Men's arms with sleeves rolled up to the elbow being all cool and confident as they drive....Its definitely A Thing.

I do enjoy a nice forearm.

GobbolinoTheWitchesCat · 08/09/2022 05:46

girlmom21 · 08/09/2022 07:14

I don't think it's the car you're attracted to!

There’s just something really sexy about men driving! I was like this yesterday when my husband was driving. Especially when they do the one arm behind the seat when reversing…

Carproblem · 08/09/2022 17:41

Gobbolino that's absolutely hilarious!

I think he did have a short sleeved shirt on yes. Maybe he forearms on the wheel had some sort of Freudian subconscious meaning??

I can't agree it's him I'm attracted to, he's really not my type at all, it literally only became a problem as soon as he set off in the car!

I haven't spoken to him. I'll see what happens when I next see him

My friend said she first felt attraction for her DH when she first met him, when he reversed his van very proficiently. 😂

It's definitely a thing.
