I have naturally mid brown hair, although not seen it for 30 years due to dyeing my hair.
i went black three years ago and it was easy, just kept putting black on black for years, big mistake. No hair salon would touch my hair, until I faded it out. Plus had to cut my hair from below my shoulders to just above the shoulders. The hairdresser suggested I use Hair & Scalp, or head & shoulders. I used hair & scalp as only a quid. I recommend using this shampoo for removing permanent or semi dyes, it’s really good. Every time I visited the salon, new growth appeared until my hair was ok enough to put brown on.
when all out, the hairdresser bleached it for me, then I put on a lighter pink/ purple in which everyone liked. Now I want to go to a darker purple. Again I am using the hair & scalp, but found out online something else useful. Firstly washed my hair as normal with the said shampoo, then I boiled a kettle, filled the sink, added the equivalent of white vinegar or better still apple cider vinegar as doesn’t smell as much. Stuck my head in sink once the boiled water gone cold. Ensured all hair soaked in the solution. Then get excess water out, cover with a shower cap or plastic bag for twenty minutes. When time up, rinse with warm water, if to smelly you can add a couple of drops of essential oil. Do this twice a week. The results are actually really good. Do not put too much vinegar in, ensure half and halve. When the hair is dry it is lovely and soft.
using these vinegars supports growth also and helps prevent spilt ends.
i wanted to share with you. I could have put the purple straight away on top, but didn’t want two tone hair.
any other tips for removing dye of the hair is great. Thanks🙂
