How disgusting
Has anyone else ever been this gluttonous on holiday and does it take long to lose!!

if you've been somewhere hot and on a plane some of that will probably be fluid retention.

Listen to yourself!
Horrible words to impose shame on yourself: disgusting, gluttonous

Where does this hateful self talk come from?

Watchthesunrise · 07/09/2022 15:33

I hope you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed a new experience, OP.

VatofTea · 07/09/2022 15:35

at least half of that will be water retention. Drink tones of water and I'ld expect you to lose several pounds over the next 2 or 3 days. Don't weigh yourself for a week, quickly on and it'll come quickly off.

Sparklfairy · 07/09/2022 15:36

It's not disgusting Confused When I go on holiday I spend two weeks on a sunbed, barely move unless it's to go to the bar, and enjoy amazing food and wine...

It's worth every lb.

Imagine if someone said that about you to your face, or even behind your back.

Don't give yourself permission to speak about you like this.

GroggyLegs · 07/09/2022 15:47

I put on half a stone but I've lost 4lb of that without really trying so it will drop off.

But I do agree with the others, please don't be so unkind to yourself! I hope you enjoyed your break.

Your all very kind I'm not normally so hard on myself I promise but wow can't believe how quickly I've piled it on. That's a lot of fluid retention!!!

Before we went on holiday, our scales had packed up, so I don't know how much weight I put on in the two weeks away, but coming back, there was at least a stone that shouldn't be there. I was pretty sensible while away - wine every evening, a salad with proper chips most days, another meal, breakfast, the odd gin and tonic ... but not high calorie meals three times a day with puddings, snacks, sugary coffees and the like.

So, I'm sure I could have whacked on a stone with a bit more effort!

I did ten pounds on honeymoon for two weeks. Totally worth it. Don't worry as long as you don't sustain those eating/drinking habits it'll come off fairly quickly

ReginaPerrin · 07/09/2022 22:02

I put on 9lbs over Christmas once (7 days!) and felt awful but it soon dropped off again by going back to my normal eating/walking routine. As a pp alluded to, quickly on, quickly off hopefully.

I’ll not be buying as many tubs of Quality Street this year, that’s for sure 😁
