Need to get motivated

I have been in this position before where the whole house needs cleaning. I need to do it today. I have been putting it off for days and still do not want to do it so..........
I have done this before and it has worked for me. It's a last resort tactic!

When I have finished my cup of tea and browsing on MN I will be my own cleaner.

I will behave as if I am employed to clean the house and use a timer to help me complete the tasks in quick time instead of say dusting a shelf and then inspecting the contents/reading letters etc.......
I will clean each room properly as if I am being paid to do so.

This works for me. What do other people do to get motivated to do housework? Any hints and tips will be appreciated

I get into a really good podcast or audiobook, and I only allow myself to listen to the next episode if I'm doing something like washing, cleaning or exercising (ie. something I really don't want to do!!)

I've just finished. It has taken me four hours. I have cleaned the whole house. Changed beds, washed sheets cleaned the bathroom /downstairs loo, emptied bins changed the catlit, washed all floors wiped all surfaces, shaken rugs vacuumed and polished. Washed the bannisters and cleaned the shower trap - I even wiped down the front door, and emptied the vac.
Only thing I have not done is windows.
I used to clean houses. It took me four hours exactly to clean a family house. I forgot how hard I used to work and am pleased I can still do it but I am knackered now. Of course I am twenty years older. Difference being I did not need a nap then 😴
