Secondary school PE 4 days a week! (Every other week)

So DC1 has just started secondary school.
The timetable switches over weekly from Week A to Week B to Week A and so on.

There’s no PE at all in Week B’s, but in the Week A’s, they’ve got PE 4 days in a row.

I’m a bit surprised at the timetabling - PE at my secondary school was always more spread out throughout the week - and really not looking forward to having to wash and dry the PE kit so quickly in Week As. We only bought one PE kit, as it’s mostly logoed, and the logoed bits of it cost over £60.

I’m sure the school have their reasons for it. But really not looking forward to all that time pressure with the washing!

That's rubbish! We have two sets of PE kit for having it twice per week.

Does it need washing daily? DS has PE 2 days in a row and I dont wash in between. Its gets a wipe if muddy and a febreeze.

DD has PE three consecutive days, every week. Thats before she decides to join any clubs...

I'd wish I had known that when buying uniform!

Oh that's tough, especially for those that don't enjoy pe.

However I am in total awe of the people that do the timetables, making sure all staff and all pupils are in the right place, for the right duration and the right number of times.

I find that the dark shorts would be fine, but the white T-shirt and socks wouldn't. My child is pretty mucky though 😄.

Unfortunately, DC1’s started getting BO, so the PE kit will probably reek if it’s not washed in between wears.

I did the timetable at my school (which has a two-weekly cycle) for several years. I would never have allowed a distribution like that! Must have been some very odd circumstances there. Or a newbie timetabler!

I don’t know why the PE lessons have been clumped together like this, but I’m assuming there’s a sensible reason somewhere.

It wouldn’t be so inconvenient if the PE kit was cheaper though! Or if the logoed PE bits were optional….

I got one PE kit new and then extra from the second hand shop after DS said he planned to sign up for rugby club. I would definitely get more than one set if they have PE 3x a week.
