Help Please- Party for a 9 year old

Hey,

Anyone have some good ideas for a birthday party for 9 years old? mixed girls and boys and anywhere between 15 and 30 kids.
So far I have looked at and ruled out for various reasons:

  • Hall with entertainer/disco
  • Cinema
  • Pamper party
Any ideas especially for something a bit different gratefully received?

Thanks

Do you have a ninja warrior near you? Or a trampoline or inflatable park? Air HAUS / Jump or similar?

Greydogs123 · 06/09/2022 17:45

Pool party? Climbing venue party?

Climbing wall party?
Lazer quest party?
Escape room?
Ninja assault course?
Ropes in tree’s similar to Go Ape?

Parties we did at that age that worked well:

Woodland party with camp cooking, bushcraft, mud modelling, scavenger hunt and wide game

Mad science party; different activity stations like giant buzzer game, balloon rockets etc, with a little demonstration at the end (setting fire to foil using a plasma ball and a couple of other things)

I suppose it depends on the budget

A climbing wall or pool inflatable party might discourage a few kids.

Laserquest is fun, but invariably somebody hurts themselves at a rollerblading or trampolining party.

We did a few forest school/den-building parties at that age (but the rural sites weren't too far away and we organised lift shares). They were VERY popular (but you probably don't want more than 20 kids). Do you have a city farm nearby? They might do something.

Pizza-making and cupcake decorating went down well (but you need to pick a quiet time and find a willing restaurant with enthusiastic staff).

Parties only need to happen for a few years.

Swimming - was a massive hit for 9th birthday parties in DS's class last year

Bowling is very popular here with that age group.

Laser tag is always popular with my 2.

depends on budget like others have said. Ones that have gone down well with my son have been trampoline, inflatable, swimming parties (either where there are slides or inflatable), go karting, nerf gun. Cheaper ones have included discos in hall, garden parties with bbq and games and bowling

The ibus? It’s little busses that have been made up ‘super cool’ and you play computer games against each other and there are prizes etc, you choose the game and what type of console you want, it works out pretty cheap.

ibox not bus 🙄

Clip and climb!

Ten pin bowling.
Pizza Express used to do make your own pizza parties, which my DD enjoyed.
Ask what parties your local sports centre offer. There will hopefully be something that appeals!
Go karting.

I hired a VR centre for my son. I have also in the past hired an inflatable indoor go-kart event.
