Got a text message from evri today telling me my item can’t be delivered and I need to pay £1.45 redelivery fee.

Clicked the link and it took me to an evri website. Still wasn’t 100% sure so opened up another tab, and opened the evri site via Google. They look identical.

I then clicked chat to an advisor and it required me to enter in the tracking number which is 16 digits long. However the one I have via the text message is 12.

I do have deliveries due today. But I’m not sure if they are coming via evri or not.

The cynical in me is saying it’s a scam. What do you think

100% scam

Plump82 · 06/09/2022 13:09

Definitely a scam. Bit concerned you clicked on the link, that's usually what not to do!

Comefromaway · 06/09/2022 13:10

scam I reckon. Hover over the link, what is the actuak hyperlin address that should then come up

Soubriquet · 06/09/2022 13:10

Thank you for your quick response. I very nearly entered in my card details too but I’m so cautious I didn’t. Glad I did.

I will post a screen shot of the scam webpage and the real webpage to show how similar they are

Definitely a scam!

They'll take your money, then they will ring you pretending to be your bank telling you it was a scam & you need to move all your money into a new account they've created.

starbaby858 · 06/09/2022 13:11

It’s a scam, I get them all the time around 11pm. Why did you even click the link? What company asks you to book a re delivery at a charge?

It also gets sent from a +44 number. Of course it’s a scam

vroom321 · 06/09/2022 13:11

I thought everyone knew about this years back? Very lucky you realised.

Soubriquet · 06/09/2022 13:12

Google has just informed me it’s a very clever scam!

It’s a scam-a clever one but still a scam
there are no levels scammers won’t sink-I’ve had the same one from Royal Mail and the nhs
’click here and pay £2.50 and we won’t hold your parcel to ransom’
’click here, and for £5 we’ll send you ‘free’ covid tests-the £5 is to cover postage…’
all utter bollocks-I look at the bit where the name should be from the sender (normally at the top of the screen)-it’s always a mobile number rather than ‘royal mail’ ‘nhs’ or ‘evri’ etc

Rutland2022 · 06/09/2022 13:13

There are no redelivery fees, this is 100% scam

I did wonder about the redelivery fee. That’s what made me hesitate and try to contact customer support.

Which didn’t go at all because they required a tracking number. Which I couldn’t provide.

Evri never ask for a redelivery fee. I'm not sure if you need to do anything to safeguard your pc now you've clicked the links but hopefully someone will know

thisisit77 · 06/09/2022 13:15

Why would you click the link 😂

Pixiedust1234 · 06/09/2022 13:15

Banks and big business ALL say DO NOT CLICK ON LINKS! go direct to their website. This is because a virus can be downloaded just by clicking!

BuenoSucia · 06/09/2022 13:16

It LITERALLY calls itself reschedule-fees.com and NOT evri.com 🤷‍♀️

Soubriquet · 06/09/2022 13:17

thisisit77 · 06/09/2022 13:15

Cos I’m clearly a dumbass

Always look at the destination URL (and be aware that it may not be what is written in the body of the email/text).

Redelivery fees are a well-known scam. Glad you escaped the scammer!

Chooksnroses · 06/09/2022 13:58

Don't EVER click on the link!!

Johnnysgirl · 06/09/2022 14:01

Every member of our household (5) had this over the weekend 🤨

SILdidittoo · 06/09/2022 14:13

I'm expecting an Evri delivery today, and also received that text this morning. Because I'm expecting a delivery I very nearly clicked on the link, but what stopped me is that they don't mention my name in the text. If it was genuine I'd expect them to know my surname at the least.

PoseyFlump · 06/09/2022 14:29

Your guard was down because you was expecting a delivery. Don't be too hard on yourself.

And couriers do send out tracking messages (just not usually asking for money!) so if in doubt, go back to the website you made the purchase on and locate the tracking number that way to then check the status on the genuine courier website.

LuckySnips · 06/09/2022 14:29

I mean, the URL they gave you is myevri-reschedule-fees.com

That's clearly not a corporate Evri website, and you should always google the URL if you're tempted to click, just in case.

Don't ever click the link - you could have downloaded malware on your phone.

These are so well-known I'm amazed anyone still sends the 'parcel redelivery fee' fake texts - I've never had to pay redelivery for anything I've actually ordered?!

BarbaraofSeville · 06/09/2022 14:36

I had one like this last week. I can't remember them asking for money, but they did want my NI number and DOB to arrange a parcel redelivery. At first I was annoyed because I was going to be out for most of the next few days and I didn't want to be hanging round for a parcel.

It did realise it was a scam and I pasted the fake tracking number into the real Evri website and saw that it was the wrong number of characters.

But the website was otherwise very convincing.

starbaby858 · 06/09/2022 15:53

I just saw this on Twitter😂

SimonaRazowska · 06/09/2022 22:11

It's a scam indeed

But I also almost fell for it

Was busy doing something else, text looked legit, I was in a hurry and irritated I had to pay for delivery... clicked the link then thought: waaaaaait a minute

But yeah, easy to fall for it IMO
