What do you want corrected op?

Staceyje · 06/09/2022 09:42

i registered my son last week and was told the way I registered my maiden name for my eldest children is wrong as it should be the name I used at marriage and not my BC name, so my new baby has different mothers maiden name recorded than my older children, it is the older ones that need correcting. Just trying to determine if it is worth it and what it would look like? Is this sort of thing common?

Why does it matter?

Staceyje · 06/09/2022 09:52

That’s what I’m trying to work out.. whether it matters and whether it’s worth paying to correct

I paid for my son's NC to be corrected.
There were a couple of errors and I'm glad I did, as any future generations that ( probably won't) might try to look up certain facts would be looking in the wrong place.

BC not NC

I had by first DD before we got married then my second after marriage, I was advised by the registry office to also change my name to my married name on my eldest's birth certificate at the same time as registering my youngest, something to do with inheritance and my DD with my maiden name in her bc would of been at a disadvantage for some reason. I just had to pay the cost of a new certificate to get my name changed.
