Rash/spots on 5 year old - any ideas? Waiting to phone doctor

My 5 year old is covered in tiny little spots. Hard to take a pic as they are so tiny. She's fine jn herself. Think they are a bit itchy as I've caught her scratching (though she's saying they aren't)

Waiting to phone doctors shortly. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas!???

Allergic reaction maybe? No idea what from if so though.

She's had chicken pox already.

I would give her an antihistamine and see what happens. if she's not unwell she's probably just got too hot in bed or had a reaction to something.

I have to admit it's not something I would be ringing the doctors about without giving it 24 hours to disappear by itself.

@pastabest she had a few spots on her legs we noticed the day before so it seems to have spread. It's first day back at school tomorrow so I'd rather just get her checked today just in case as it will be a pain if it gets worse and we have to go on a school day.

Looks like maybe a mild topical reaction or even possibly a sweat rash. Have you changed washing powder or anything recently?

This would be a spoonful of Piriton and see what happens situation in our house. Heat , viral or allergy can all cause rashes.

StrawberryPot · 06/09/2022 09:00

If she feels unwell then perhaps a viral rash. Otherwise I agree with others - probably an allergic reaction.

In neither case would I be bothering the dr. If she feels okay, give her an antihistamine and see how she goes.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 06/09/2022 09:04

If it started a few days ago it could well be irritation from bedding when you were away .

nodiggetynodoubt · 06/09/2022 11:30

No hot tub. Best guess seems to be bedding I think. Giving some Piriton now. Thanks all 😊

I'm not neurotic about such things usually, just didn't want it turning out to be something infectious with first day back tomorrow! Going to be hard enough settling her back in anyway, I was just dreading her becoming ill and missing start of term!
