Is there a car that fits 3 isofix in the back?

If so what and would you recommend?

I need to fit DH, myself and 3DC still in car seats into our new car, so 5 seats with 3 isofix bases in the back.
Also need a huge huge boot (so 7 seaters with seats in the boot are out as they don’t leave enough boot space)

Has anyone got any recommendations please as I’m so sick of looking?!

I think a Q7 might

Ford galaxy or Seat Alhambra - the seat actually has 5 isofix as well as sliding doors.

I have 3 year old twins and we have a galaxy, massive boot when not using seats 6&7

I feel you pain! You can fit three adults into the back of a normal car but not three babies!

When mine were little we had Toyota people carriers. Estima etc but I think they are all old now. They still have boot space as well as two rows of seats in the back. The seats can be all forward, or facing each other, it was perfect. Not like the one that have the extra row of seats or a boot.

However, do remember that a roof box is your friend, and kids in car seats don't need much leg room so you can fit more things in than you might think.

It also depends on how old the kids are. Some cars come with built in car seats for booster stage. Mine has two, but I'm sure they could be adapted to three, but no good for new babies.

There are companies who make bespoke back seats to fit more seatbelt spaces and increase the capacity of the car.

Citroen C4 grand picasso. We upgraded my mini cooper when we were having our child as my partner has tow other children who were I'm booster seats. An isofox and two boosters sit comfortably in the back.

There is attachments on each seat for iso. They are all full sized seats too.

Ford smax.

VW sharan. 7 seats, 5 of which isofix. Fold down back row and you get a massive boot space.

Range Rover or a Land Rover Discovery will. I think a Ford Galaxy can too, they are quite popular round here with larger families.

Could a multimac car seat be an option?

3ormoredogs · 06/09/2022 07:22

Thanks everyone!

Ideally I didn’t want a people carrier but it seems like those are the best option.
I have two under 2 plus one in a booster seat. Why is the middle seat is always a tiny seat, wouldn’t have a problem otherwise!

I also have an extra large dog who sometimes comes with us and a double pram to fit in. We looked at some of the 7 seaters but then the boot space isn’t enough for a pram and shopping for example.

Current car is a Land Rover freelander…it’s spent more time in the garage than out. Think it’s stuck together with blue tac 😂

These are really expensive (£1500 for 3) but probably cheaper than a new car:

There's a Facebook group called Car Seat Advice UK and if you search in that group there'll be loads of posts!

Does the booster seat need isofox btw? I know you'll need a full width seat but I thought most you can use without it?

Skinnydecafflatte · 06/09/2022 07:28

I’ve a Peugeot 5008, three car seats can fit in the middle row and the back seats fold completely flat so you have a nice big boot but with extra seats if ever needed (and easy to put up)

Lykia · 06/09/2022 07:29

You probably need a 7 seater. I don't know why they stopped making the Chrysler Voyager as that would have been ideal.

Re: Q7 if you use the third row I don't think there would be much room for pram/dog.

3ormoredogs · 06/09/2022 07:32

@BigSidLittleSid it probably doesn’t need isofix but it won’t physically fit between the two baby seats because the middle seat is too narrow. In current car the seat is a half seat with the stupid lip in the middle so the legs can’t fit properly.

A 7 seater would probably work fine if I could put the seats down for a huge boot but I would prefer the 3 kids in the middle row if possible. I can’t seem to find many wide enough but there’s a few here I haven’t thought about.

Galaxy should fit all your requirements. Nice to drive, too

poshme · 06/09/2022 07:53

I second the c4 grand Picasso if you don't want a people carrier.

7 seats (though v little boot space if up) for when you need to transport additional kids.

3 decent seats across the back.

Pinkbananas01 · 06/09/2022 07:58

Smax fits 3 isofix car seats in middle row- full sized seats. I rarely use boot seats in mine & the large boot space is fab, plenty of space for a double & lots of other child related stuff.

Pinkbananas01 · 06/09/2022 07:59

VW touran also has 3 full seats in middle row & boot space big enough as well.

Theillustratedmummy · 06/09/2022 08:08

Yep grand 4 picasso. I have had 3 full car seats in the back. The boot is massive when all 7 seats are not up. I'm even the go to for family moves because when the sears are down its like a van.
There is also so much room in the footwells in the back for additional storage. So if I have all 7 seats up I can put stuff (the dog) there instead.

Champagneforeveryone · 06/09/2022 08:10

Here

Dr Google tells me there are a few but they fall neatly into either the people carrier or very expensive category (or both!)

Personally I would buy a Discovery, but like you I have a Freelander and would struggle with a sensible car though I would likely enjoy the savings on diesel

FourOclock · 06/09/2022 08:35

We have a Grand Picasso and a Sharan. We never have the back seats up, the Sharan is very old so the seats come out completely leaving loads of space, and the GP back seats fold down into the well of the boot so it leaves the boot completely flat and very large. I can easily fit a double pram, a dog and more in it.

creampuffs · 06/09/2022 10:04

Citroen C4 Picasso. Not the grand version. It's a five seater but the 3 seats in the back are still all full size with isofix points. Has a massive boot space too.

RebeccaCloud9 · 06/09/2022 10:09

We need a new car with exactly the same requirements! We think we're going for an s max. They have flat sits across the middle back so really easy to get 3 car seats in. Not much boot space when all 7 seats up but loads when back 2 are down.

Lykia · 06/09/2022 10:14

I know someone with high order multiples and they bought one of these.
