Mine is, literally read the text from the bank 10 mins ago. Don't know if it's linked to a recent pay rise.
As an aside, trying now to cancel my child benefit because cannot face the whole tax thing now am over the threshold. It would be easier to sell my child than set up an account.

Mine was the normal amount.

How much less than normal is yours?
Sorry to hear. It's all a bloody nightmare sorting anything with them!

Is everyone who gets child benefit paid today or different days?

I did. Mine was less but it may have automatically been reduced as one dd has left college. Do you have a dc who is 16 or over?

LilithImpala67 · 06/09/2022 06:25

Mine has been paid today and is the normal amount too.
I believe they pay out on either a Monday or a Tuesday, and it'll be every 4 weeks. Was yours due today?

rainbowandglitter · 06/09/2022 06:26

Mine was yesterday and the normal amount

Devo1818 · 06/09/2022 06:27

Got mine and its normal

ditavonteesed · 06/09/2022 06:33

Got mine today but it is less, dd turns 19 in 3 weeks so I presume it's that hers stops then.

Champagneforeveryone · 06/09/2022 06:44

Mine was less, but it's our final payment as DS is 18.

It decreasing won’t be linked to a pay rise as it’s paid regardless of your earnings if you claim and you then have to pay back rather than it being stopped at source. You can deduct pension contributions in working out if you’ve gone over the £50,000 so if you are only slightly over it may be worth paying extra pension so you can keep all your child benefit

Hugasauras · 06/09/2022 06:54

There was a bank holiday last week which can mean payments are partial. Did you get a smaller amount last week and the rest today?

miniwh · 06/09/2022 06:59

Thank you

My DC are 5 and 1.

No partial payments previously etc

Didn’t get mine but it’s not due until next week.

Can you pay more into a pension to take your salary down to less than 50k? Then you don't have to pay tax on cb

Decidualcast · 06/09/2022 07:37

Interesting only checked because of this thread. I had like on the 8th Aug and received the same amount yesterday.

Morph22010 · 06/09/2022 07:45

I just checked mine too, I got an amount start of august and then same amount on 26th, child benefit is 4 weekly rather than monthly so not always received same date in month

Seeleyboo · 06/09/2022 07:49

Do you have a child who has just turned 16. If so you need to let them know that said child is still in non advanced education or working. Then if they are still in education they will reinstate it and pay back pay.
