I don’t want to hear it, no one else wants to hear it.
Why do people think it’s ok?
Its like playing music through their phones without earphones.
It’s as antisocial as leaving dog shit on a path I think.
There, I’ve said it.

Because they are IMPORTANT duh Grin and we need to know they are important because we are the little people

Because they are stupid and have no manners.

The above, but newer phones more or less have a speakerphone as standard anyway. The actual speakerphone is even louder!

I agree. I’ve started staring at the culprits and listening to their calls. I’m trying to embarrass them into stopping, I’ll let you know if it works.

In my days of travelling between London and Manchester (when there were actual trains) I used to bloody hate this. Found myself laughing at people.

Twatty, self absorbed, self important dick wads. It's the only possible explanation.

Because the volume on their phones is absolutely shit. But if it’s very urgent I would answer only to say I cannot talk as on the train but will phone back asap. It is annoying, I really really wish I could hear people properly when just putting phone to my ear! The good ole days!!

pastypirate · 05/09/2022 18:10

Were they doing the cool person way of holding the phone flat from the bottom? Because I feel you're pain

Was impressed getting a train earlier and a few people actually answered the phone or got on the train and said i'll have to call you back i'm on the train. Albeit I was in the quiet carriage (not that it stops some people).

If you want to make a phone call go in the vestibule/corridor.

My neighbour takes all his calls in the garden. I could write a book about him, his family and his job.

I think it's this.

it gives me the rage.

Why is the conversation all along the inane lines of whether they'd like peas or sweetcorn with their supper? Angry
